Commission for Jade & Cam

2022

This project was a wild, deliciously weird ride from start to finish. Jade and Cam, the powerhouse pair behind Junk, built their bold, brilliant restaurant from the ground up—while wrangling three little legends at home. They handed me total creative freedom (with enthusiastic instructions to “keep it weird”), and I ran with it.

The commission included one bold feature wall piece and three large standalone artworks, each echoing the quirky, cool, totally-one-of-a-kind energy that Junk oozes. Sketches were sketched and approved in record time. I used a mix of paint, paint pens, oils- everything was to be black & white. From there, it was all go—with a lot of creative banter, plenty of coffee, wine top-ups, and unforgettable food fuelling the process, the whole process felt more like a celebration than a commission.

We even took it one step further—custom stickers & tote bags were created for the opening night, turning the artwork into something you could carry home and keep the experience going.

This one was a dream combo of trust, creative chaos, and full-on flavour.
